Rev. Dr. Rusty Freeman


The Rev. Dr. Rusty Freeman, Chief Overseer of Movement Ministries, LLC, and Executive Director of The Revive Movement Inc. He is a 7th generation Methodist pastor and an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church. Rusty has expertise in youth, children and young adult ministries, men’s ministries, spiritual formation, retreats and camps. Rusty’s gift of empowering leaders and developing systems has resulted in successful ministries and exciting growth. He writes a daily blog and often shares about his daily walk through the Bible and his adventures on mission trips to Kenya, Turkey, Israel, Costa Rica, Honduras and among the nations homeless. 

From 2000 to 2014, Rusty was the Director of Youth Ministries for the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church where he averaged 3000 participants per year at events by involving 350 churches. In 15 years in this ministry, Rusty directed 250 camps and retreats and saw hundreds of young people express a call to ministry and thousands commit their lives to Jesus Christ. In 2015, Rusty and his wife Dr. Lane Freeman, founded Movement Ministries, LLC. In 2019, Revive Ministries was officially formed as a non-profit entity to help lead youth and youth workers into making disciples and growing God’s Kingdom.

Rusty is ecumenical with his faith formation coming through Young Life, the Methodist Church, Campus Crusade, Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Texas Baptist Churches, Asbury Theological Seminary and Laity Lodge. He has been a consultant, a senior pastor, an associate pastor, a conference speaker, an event planner and a youth pastor. Rusty has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Religion from Baylor (1991), a Masters of Divinity (1996) and a Doctor of Ministry (2007) from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.  

Rusty lives in Horseshoe Bay with his wife, Dr. Lane Freeman, an outstanding biological/holistic dentist, and has three children, Brian and Chase Freeman who are married and live in Marble Falls, and Bailey a student at Baylor University in Waco. He also has five dogs, one cat, eight cows, three miniature donkeys and two “rescued” horses.
